Description
L-Glutamic acid monosodium salt is used as a flavor enhancer, swine feed additive as well as to improve the taste of bitter drugs. It is used therapeutically to reduce blood ammonia levels. It serves as an excitatory amino acid neurotransmitter, which is an agonist at glur and NMDA receptors. Further, it is used to reduce the intake of sodium.
